When it comes to animals, most of the time they are really cute to look at and people do not mind having them around. But when you are dealing with something like a woodchuck or a groundhog you might have different views. Yes they are still really cute and funny to watch when they are running around like headless chickens, but if they are getting into your gardens and completely tearing up your yard that cuteness all of a sudden becomes an annoyance.
When it comes to getting rid of woodchucks and groundhogs there are a couple things you could do. One is you could call animal control to come out and trap them or call an exterminator, but chances are you will have to pay a lot of money and they will just come back in a few weeks time. The other option is to take a mixture of black ground pepper, blood meal, talcum powder, or dried blood and sprinkle it around your garden. You can also try using hair clippings. Pureed and strained hot peppers mixed with water, garlic, and dish soap is another remedy that might work. The best time to treat your yard and garden is during the mid- to late summer or early July to late September.
